“The race that started every race.”

The Athlegend Auto Racer Tee pays tribute to the very first competitive auto racing event in history — the groundbreaking 1894 Paris–Rouen trial, a moment that transformed engineering, sport, and human ambition forever.

Crafted from 100% premium organic cotton, this unisex tee delivers a soft, breathable feel with a clean, athletic silhouette. But the real story lives in the artwork: a bold, retro‑styled graphic inspired by the original race, where 102 pioneers entered, yet only 21 machines were accepted to start after rigorous qualifying trials.

This is a wearable tribute to the dawn of speed culture.

Auto Racing in a Nutshell:

Auto racing between cars traces its origins back to 30 August 1867 in England, when two self‑powered road vehicles competed over an 8‑mile route from Ashton‑under‑Lyne to Old Trafford. It was a small duel, but it marked the beginning of a new era in speed, engineering, and human daring.

The world’s first true motoring contest involving multiple vehicles took place on 22 July 1894, running from Paris to Rouen. More than 100 entrants registered for the event, showcasing steam, petrol, and experimental machines. Around 69 vehicles lined up for the 50 km qualifying trial, but only 21 entrants were ultimately selected to start the main race. This moment is widely recognised as the birth of organised competitive auto racing.
